WOW - I really need to keep Nathan's Blog updated

July 13, 2014

So I found that I can send one picture a week. Here's a picture of me with a scythe. The field is white and ready for harvest!

July 13, 2014

Dear Family

I would like to inform you that I am leaving Bowmanvile Oshawa and heading over to london....London Ontario anyway. Almost as cool. I actually have kind of an important question. Do you guys have the balance for my card? Or my pin number? I've been using it for stuff and I just don't want to run out. I am getting transferred, but that means I might be able to send pictures next week. Yay. Type you next week

love Elder Erasmus

Dawson's taller than dad. Dawson's taller than DAD! DAWSON'S TALLER THAN DAD!!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!!!!!

July 7, 2014

Dear Family

We met the new mission president. He's totally a hippie. He's from California, he surfs, He plays acoustic guitar. The only problem with this theory is that he's a world famous gynecologist. He delivers babies. I spent my fourth of July on exchanges with my district leader. He's Canadian....Yay. I did use those little poppers i brought with me. And you said they would be confiscated, HA! I don't remember if I told you this, we have been taking  jujitsu as a way to find investigators and i am almost at my second stripe. HOORA!  That's pretty much my week....Oh, and we had a baptism.

Dear Dad
Oupa says you're having some health issues. Is this true? If so, you should tell me so I know what to pray for. As a missionary, I have that kind of pull. Your holiday sounds fun. To be honest, the mink creek experience is fun but I just wouldn't mind a change every now and again. Can David still walk? It sounds like he broke his back? I guess batman broke his back and was able to climb out of a prison pretty easily. I will pray for you regardless. love ya

Dear Nick
Canoeing sounds fun, but a fish. I hate fish. It was nice of you to donate a few things to David. you're such a nice guy. I really wish I could send you pictures but the library won't let me. I'm sorry. Still love you though.

Dear Dawson
WASSUP!!!!!!! I can do it too. Sounds rough having to do flags. I don't think I ever had to do flags on the fourth. Hope you work hard this summer. I can't believe a freshman has to go up against seniors. Have I told you how crazy that is? Love ya.

Dear Ryan
I'm not sure I like the less linear approach. If you don't have to beat dungeon A to beat Dungeon B, than that means you don't have to use the item/power up from dungeon A either. That means the dungeons will become more isolated and less Progressive. I would much more prefer the linear dungeon system...but that's just me. What do you think? Also, Why do you keep getting grounded. Either you're not learning anything or mom is just on your case. Which is it? I hope you're able to still decimate in football. Love you.

Dear mom
We actually had this one lesson with a women who said " I was actually planning to move to Utah to meet some Mormons. I didn't know there were any up here. They just have such high standards and I want to be a part of that." Pretty cool, eh? Other than that, the week wasn't too terribly interesting. Are You and Ryan still butting heads? maybe we all need to take some deep breaths and think about how bad the situation actually is. Love you.

Love you all sincerely Elder Erasmus

Dear family
Our mission president died this week. (That is code for going home) Our new leader is president Clayton. There's a storm coming. He's rumored to be so different than president Scott, that he will ban tracting. I don't know how i feel about this. We were able to get out of a few service activities this week, so we have more time to go finding now. That's good, right?
We have been doing a bit more finding this week than last.  Elder Yo wants to do some purification challenge. That sounds like the worst thing I ever heard of, but he won't listen to me. I am not looking forward to that.

Dear Nick
I have played judges. It was one of my favorite things to play during recess.  It also sounds like you are a little bowling champion. How did you get to be so good anyway? Aren't angry birds epic enough? Anyway, I love you and hope you have fun playing football.

Dear Dawson
Are you a punk? Don't be a punk. Punks get in trouble. It's cool that you're already are on the football team. And only a freshman too. Anyway, I think you're awesome. Love you bro.

Dear Ryan
So what game are you the most excited for? I remember we would always be talking about e3 for days. It's a good thing that you're starting to feel better. You'll be catching balls in no time.....No homo. Dad says you want a scooter. Don't get a scooter. scooters are lame. Love ya bro.

Dear Mom
Sometimes you play on things for thirty minutes, sometimes an hour. Kids are weird like that. This week is also canada day. Canada seems to like taking american holidays and moving them ever so slightly so they can call them canadian. thanksgiving, boxing day, and now canada day. It's slightly frustrating. To answer your question about the mission spirit, I don't even know. I don't feel different. I've baptized three people and the mission average is five, so there's that. Anyway love ya. wish jacob well for me.

Sincerely Elder Erasmus

June 23, 2014

Dear Family.

Weird week this week. The other elders in our district were having their tile done so they had to crash at our place for the week. We have a VERY tiny apartment by the way. But it was fun having more people to hang out with. It was basically a slumber party. We also have been doing alot of service. The sisters that were before us basically sold us out for slave labor for the next few months. Whoohoo. I have actually had a reason to wash my jeans this week. It's weird. Any way...

Dear Nick
Thank you for spoiling the movie. I appreciate that, really. How is football going? What position do you play? Are You x'd? Dad says you just started. I didn't start until I was 11...I had a terrible time. Don't worry you get used to it and eventually enjoy it. Love you bud.

Dear Ryan
E3. Tell me about it. I know it happened, Elder Yo's sister emailed him about. If video games are all you're doing right now, then share the love. You'll play, don't worry about it. you broke your back and were back in a couple of weeks, remember. just keep on keeping on. Love ya

Dear Dawson
Mountain jam, sounds fun. How did it go. I hear john bytheway gave a talk. He's basically the missionary equivalent to Brian Reagan.  Good luck with your basketball. You could tell me about e3 too if you want. Kinda desperate for info on the new zelda. love you bro

Dear Dad
Talked at a prison? Sounds creepy. I'm sure the people there all have wonderful testimonies and all that, but prison is a scary place. If you ever want to find something fun about church history, look up j. golden kimbal, president of the seventy. I have no idea how he got that position but he did. Love you pops.

Dear Mom
So many missionaries. I know this the most cliche thing to say, but I really miss my momma's home cooking. I can't send pictures. The library computers won't let me. You guys are in my prayer's though. I love you.

Cordially yours
Elder Erasmus

June 16, 2014

Hey guys
How's it going? This week has been pretty crazy. We actually had a sleep over at our apartment because the other elders were getting their tile done. Apparently they are moving out next transfer and so their redoing things. We also were in charge of a mini mtc youth activity. We ran them through all the drills we did and had elder yo pretend to be an investigator. Pretty nifty. On top of that, we were also put in charge of a single adult conference. We originally were going with a family history and temple work angle, but that idea was so inspired that the stake patriarch had it too. We changed it to missionary work a two days before it happened. We came up with this brilliant idea of making candles and doing the "let your light so shine" bit with missionary work. Two things I learned. The closest place to buy candle wax is on the other side of the zone which is an hour away, and wax is very VERY hard to clean up. It was fun though. This week we just did so much service activities it was kinda training.

Dear Dawson.
Sounds like you had a fun time at your football camp. You're going to be a freshman right? It's so weird that 9th graders are now in high school. I just have one more question." a ken dama their way" what does this even mean? you are awesome and I love you.

Dear Nick
I remember when I went to sport camp at dimpell dell. I also remember doing karate. You should do karate. Beg mom to let you do karate. DO IT. What grade are you going into this year? 4th right? You all are so big. Love you.

Dear Ryan.
It's ok. I didn't want a letter from you this week anyway. I don't care. I DON'T! But seriously. I just realized it's june. You know what happens in june? E3 that's what. I'll be home  next year for christmas. I need to know what i need to ask for. Infact, give nate tripp my email and have him email pictures and stuff. You are my connection to the real world. i need you. I miss you. Love ya

Dear Dad
I wasn't really bumbed last week I just needed someone to vent at. I'm doing fine. We definitely mixed things up this week. How are things on the homefront? Everybody playing nice? When is treck by the way? I thought it was this year. Is Ryan just moping around the house? He can still do things with a broken shoulder. Love ya

Dear Mom
Is he really only 145? I would have thought he'd bulk up by now. Going to disney world would be fun. Maybe we could have another family reunion like the north Carolina trip. We have to wait for zach and grandmother to get back... and ryan...and sam. Everybody's going to be gong! When will we have everybody home again? Now I'm stressed. Love you.

June 9, 2014

Dear family

I am now stationed in bowmanville east side. It's pretty cool. My new companion is Elder Yo. I can't pronounce is name so I just use yo. He's a convert of about two and a half year and half of that has been on his mission. he's been out about five months longer than i have. He's basically the polar opposite of elder Ward. He doesn't tract and we spend all our time trying to work with the members. I get that is the smarter way to work, but if the ward doesn't want to help it feels pretty pointless. I get to drive again, so that's a plus. The area didn't really let me enjoy the first week though. The only investigator the sisters had was not interested at all and slightly less accountable. by the way, our apartment is tiny. literally, one room. This getting way too negative so i'm just gonna into my individual letters now.

Dear Nick
I remember how fun field day was. we would always manage to turn everything into a huge water fight. it sounds like the house is going to be pretty empty this week. At least that means you get the tv and computer all to yourself. By the way, you're not gonna get any pictures for awhile. We don't have a family history center in our chapel and the library computers are stopping me from uploading my stuff...Sorry. love ya bro.

Dear Dawson
It sounds like you're the flyest shiz on the block. Starting football as a freshman. Super duper dope. However, I am concerned over that comment you made about makeout city. At your age, kissing is only a spectator sport. Don't play it till you're at least seventeen. Other than that, have fun with high school. Love ya.

Dear Ryan
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! How did you manage to break your shoulder? I'm sorry for laughing but that picture mom sent was just too good. Don't worry though. You've broken worst things and still managed to get back in the game. I'll bet you'll be suited up to play in a month.  I'll be praying for you. love ya

Dear Mom
Alma 8 14... I think? It's the one where an angel give Alma the younger a pep talk.
How's Ryan taking the whole "broken" thing? I bet the house will stay slightly cleaner at least, Without all the stanky equipment and all that. I don't know what to tell you about primary. Maybe start giving out treats, but after a few weeks stop giving them treats if they're not reverent. I don't know, that's why I was never in primary. Well I hope you have fun with just nick in the home. Love ya.

Sincerely Elder Erasmus

June 2, 2014

Dear family

Well, I'm officially getting transferred. We are actually getting white washed so we have to put the apartment in order. It's gonna be a rather short email today. Tanya's getting baptized on the 8th, I leave the 3rd. Super. What else happened this week? I made a cake. But I forgot to use oven mits when I took it out of the oven I am so smart guys. Canada also got a nation wide stake conference on Sunday. President Eyring and Elder Holland spoke from Vancouver and it was broadcast-ed  all over the north. One more cool story, We got pulled over by a cop because Elder Ward pulled an illegal u turn. Luckily we were able to play the ignorant american card and got off without a ticket. fun stuff. We are going to the zoo today with a member, so I'll probably send pics next week.  love you guys a ton.

Elder Erasmus

May 26, 2014

Dear Family
You know how allergy season starts in April down there? Well here it's the end of May. My face feels like there is a giant slug where my brain used to be and the mucus is seeping out every hole it can find. Super fun. Also to add to the super swell time I have been having, we spent one day building a shed for a recent convert. That wouldn't be so bad except that her backyard is the source of all mosquitoes in the world. I don't think there is a spot of skin that hasn't been bitten. Other than that, this week went great. We got to go see a concert... Kinda. it was a charity concert. It was also a fiddle concert. Neither me nor elder ward like fiddles, so it wasn't incredibly fun, but hay. A concert is a concert. It's the last week of the transfer, so things are gonna be either more relaxed or hectic depending on it goes. That's my week anyway.

Dear Nick
When did you learn how to ride a bike? I could have sworn you still had training wheels when I left. I've been playing alot of tennis. maybe I'll play you when I get back. You'll probably win though...I'm not very good.  want to be the zombies when we play though. Are You gonna do anything fun this summer? You're old enough for cub scout camp now, aren't you. I always had fun there. Love ya bud.

Dear Ryan
As long as your a humble tennis player... Why are there so many people playing tennis all of a sudden? Also, I'll ways be there to support you. I'll be right here(You can't see me but I'm pointing to your heart). Can you play football with your table induced injury? anyway, have a good summer...nard dawg.

Dear Dawson
What the snot is a kendoma? Is it candy? Is it chewy? Can you share it with your friends? How many come in a package? If I eat all of them, will I get fat? These are the questions of the soul. Sucks about you loosing your championship game and all. But now you get to do a real man's sport. FOOTBALL. Right? I never know what kind of attitude  we have about sports. Hope you have fun with whatever it is you decide to do. Love ya.

Dear Mom
I'm  fine. The collapsing thing was just a one time event. Also I'm pretty sure demons were behind it. Sounds like the kids had fun at park city. I think that is one of the things I missed the most. I'll be there in a few years though. Why are so many people going on missions. I know it's what we're supposed to do, but still weird that everyone is leaving. I miss you guys and hope pray for you. How did Nick do at his mathbowl thing anyway?

Elder Erasmus

May 19, 2014

Dear Erasmus Family
This week has been a fun week. I went on exchanges with Elder Olsen on Friday. Everything was going fine...Until I collapsed in the middle of a lesson. We were standing at the porch of one of their investigators when all of a sudden, I became very dizzy and lost consciousnesses. The weird part was that I was completely deaf for about forty seconds before and after that. Weird. You may have noticed that I am writing you on a Tuesday instead of Monday. The reason for this is that this was actually a holiday weekend in Canada where they celebrate the queen's birthday. Our mission president thought since so many people won't be at work, it would be the perfect time to tracting and find people. Unfortunately nobody actually stays home for the holidays, so maybe three people actually opened their doors all weekend. Our most progressing investigator at the moment is named Tanya. She has been to church twice and is super interested. Strange, as when we first met her I thought she was going to be one of those one lesson and drop investigator. I guess the spirit is just plain old smarter than me. Weird week...
Dear Nick
Sounds like you had a fun week too. Are you bummed that lacrosse is over? I don't really understand how you and Dawson got so smart. I sucked at math in highschool. There seems to be alot of new cool movies coming out. As long as you don't get too scared you should be fine. A little fear never hurt anyone. That video game sounds pretty fun. Is one person the plants and the other person the zombies or are they both plants? When I see something interesting I'll take a picture for you, but most of the stuff here seems pretty mundane. love ya bro.
Deae Dawson.
WELL THANKS FOR SPOILING THE MOVIE!!! That's the kinda thing you don't talk about till after the person has seen it. Are you gonna win the playoffs? You should. All you have to do is believe in yourself. YOU JUST GOTTA BELIEVEEEEE!!!! Lots of yelling in this email... Anyway. I'll be praying for you to win the big game. Lots of love
Dear Ryan
Yeah, they're totally gonna let you take a her girl to the hotel... I wish I could smack you through the internet. You got to bring sam with you last time so they should let you bring some other friend. Shame about your lacrosse game, but you can't win them all. But now you get to get ready for a real man's sport, FOOTBALL... Do we still like football? I don't know. Best wishes
Dear Dad
Sounds rough. That is alot of pills too. At least you're feeling better...right?
It sounds like you guys have been having fun though. especially with the weather. It's been raining here almost everyday. A bit warmer but I still have to wear my sweater. who was the villian in the new spiderman movie? I've heard the green goblin, electro, rhino, and misterio. Xmen also was one of the movies I was most looking forward to before I left. So tell me if it's good or not. Love ya
Dear mom
You went through my stuff. Not cool. I'm doing fine with clothes and I'll buy things if I need them don't worry. The yard sounds like it might be struggling. I actually kinda miss mowing a little. The only yard work I've done this spring was shoveling frozen dirt into wheelbarrels. That was fun. Well, another week has come and gong and I must bid you farewell. Elder Erasmus

Catch up... A New Area, A New Companion, and A Baptism

May 11, 2014

Had a great talk with Nathan yesterday - He is doing great! Skyped us from their new convert (baptized last week) house.  Here are a few pics we snapped of him while he was talking to us - He is doing great but still our Nathan!  He was cutting his own hair and usually uses the #6 blade but put the #2 blade on on accident - sooo he is sporting a buz cut!  Love this kid!

May 5, 2014

 Dear Erasmus Family

Please send socks. I know my birthday was a few weeks ago now, but I didn't realize I had only one good pair until recently. I guess I have been working even harder than I thought. Cool. So I sounds Like It's been a pretty stressful week for everybody. At least you guys get warm weather. I tell you one thing I learned on my mission. Never, and I mean NEVER mention America while you're in Canada. And especially don't compare the two. Canadians get super defensive about it. Having pride in your country is great but all I said was that it's a lot colder here. The Baptism of James Douglas Arthur went well over all. The most interesting thing about him is his conversion story. We have had such an eventful week that that was kinda less interesting. One of the less active members we have been working with died, We had zone training and I found out that one of the missionaries has to be half giant(seven feet 2 inches tall! and sturdy as a tree), We had a baptism and we killed a cat right in front of it's owner. Yikes. The life of a missionary. We have been having a lot more progress than I had in Welland. Tracting might not be fun, but it seems to work here. I can't believe Grandmother and Papa Joe are going on another mission. Just one is HAAAaaaaard. It might be more fun if you had the same companion the entire time, but I don't think I could do two. That's about all I have to say about this week. Oh, and Mom, Get some sleep. "It is not requisite for a man to run faster than he has strength". Naps are good for you.

Love
Elder Erasmus

April 28/2014
 Dear Erasmuses(Erasmi?)
I'm in Peterborough now. Pretty cool place. It's more rural than Welland or Brampton were. My new companion is Elder Ward.  He's from Washington state and is going back in July. He LOVES tracting. I don't understand why. He's also kind of a robot. He has a strict schedule and he eats the same thing everyday. He makes this big pot of Pasta once a week and just heats it up and eats it throughout the week. That's pretty strange. We do have a baptism planned for next Sunday. The only problem is I've never met the guy.  This Transfer will be a crucial one. If I'm transferred, then I'll only have served with each of my companions for one time between transfers. If I'm not, then I'll have killed over half my companions.(killing is missionary lingo for sending them home). the weather is a little cooler than it was in Welland. I'm back to wearing my jacket everyday. So Shelby is an official registered Neuro scientist. Sounds fancy. What are y'all doing for Ryan's birthday? Well I'm done talking about myself.

 Dear Nick
Don't make fun of the baby ducks. when you were a baby, you were so bad at walking you needed to wear a helmet so your head wouldn't get all lopsided. You're so big now. What happened? Last time I saw you, you barely came up to my waist. Are you using your size in sports? Sounds like it. You always tell me about how much you are killing it out there. Stay gold buddy.

 Dear Dawson
What's with the um. You're going to be a freshman. Your only options are Alta and Corner Canyon....Or college. Are You really that smart? All Missionary apartments are about the same. We share a room, then there's the study room/office, then the living room, and finally a really small kitchen. The biggest difference between this apartment and the one from Welland is the fact that it is a basement apartment not an actual apartment building. You know what that means? IT'S FREEZING!!! I swear basement apartments somehow generate cold. Too bad about that bad body check. Did you hurt the guy? Hope not. Well, later days.

Dear Ryan    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO!!!! I would sing to you but I don't think you would be able to hear me from way down there. How was the day activity for prom? Those are usually the best parts, aren't they. You might actually like the dance part, but for me it's too loud and too many people. I know I'm usually the level headed guy around the house but I'm in Canada. You know what I learned about Canada this week? The don't have the letter 'Z'. they sorta do. They have zed. looks like 'Z' but it just doesn't sound right. Hope you have a good year. 17 is usually one of the better ones.

 Dear Mom
Funny story. You know Elder Olsen, my trainer? He's my district leader again. I get to see him every week. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I don't really expect to see my companions after transfers, but here he is. Why is dad on Ryan's case? Was it him just staying out late on prom night? Which little kid peed? I bet that was awesome. Thanks for your testimony. Earlier this week the bishop asked us to stop by this less active member and she basically bore an anti testimony to us and I've been feeling a bit down since so I needed yours. Love you.

Dear Leon
Didn't feel like E-mailing me this week? That's cool. So how was your week? Who was your favorite companion from your mission. I figured I have enough to start ordering them. Which companion did you work the best with and which did you have the most fun with? Besides room mating with an mafia member, you haven't told me a lot of cool stories from your mission. I think I'd like to hear about them. keep in touch.
Sincerely yours
 Elder Erasmus

April 21/21/2014

Dear Erasmus Clan
We got transfer calls this week. I'm going to someplace called Peterborugh with some guy named Elder Ward. That's pretty cool, right? I also celebrated my birthday. Those aren't as cool as when you celebrate at home. We decided to repel down this mountain on a very slippery rope so we went spelunking an abandoned mine shaft. All those things are against the white handbook and I'm pretty sure slightly illegal.  Also, it was raining. NOT MY IDEA. Our district leader is a little bit of an adrenaline junky. We got a couple of potential investigators this week, but we still haven't taught a great deal of lessons. We went on exchanges near the end of the week. That's what we thought anyway. What really happened was our district kidnapped us and took us to the Mandarin to celebrate Elder Roberts death. They're not the most consecrated missionaries, but they have more investigators than we do... To help with that, they decided that we should have a blitz in our area(a blitz is when an entire zone works one area for a few hours) on Sunday. Turns out Welland is just dead. We had zero progress with that. We did see a cool video on exchanges during lunch. Journey of faith. Anyway, I'm going to work a new area soon.
 Dear Nick

That sounds like a ton of fun. I went hiking in St.George but I never went to the lava tubes. Is that dog bigger than me? I don't think I've been in Uncle Greg's pool in some five odd years. Wow. Why did you watch capt. america again? Didn't get enough the first time? I hope you had a good Easter. love you bro.

Dear Dawson  You're a teacher? Man, I'm old. Do you know the yoga move that can make a grown man poop his pants? How was Thor 2? better than Iron man 3? Who's this rich friend of yours? You know you shouldn't make friends with someone just because they're rich. How tall are you? I remember when you used to be shorter than Ryan. love you.

 Dear Ryan
Don't get a scooter. Motorcycles are sick, but scooters are lame. Are you still a junior? IS spring break in April? It's in march in Canada. At St. George, did you spend time with the Family or did you go off with some of your friends. Sounds like the family had fun. do something fun for your birthday. love you bro.

Dear Dad
I haven't seen any of those movies, but a member was watching the ten commandments at one of our dinner appointments. It was the part where Ramses was mourning over his kid and nephritite was demanding that he kill Moses and stuff. Then he put on his cool armor and threatened to kill her. I got real good at reading lips on my mission... At least I don't make ridiculous predictions over kinder eggs. I remember the only reason we did fire drills on the mountain was cause somebody blew up our furnace.  Hopefully that won't happen again. how was your business meeting? Learn anything useful? I love you dad

 Dear Mom
I should be able to email today. The areas that use libraries instead of family history centers will be cut off. I might actually get to email you twice. One family did have us over for Easter. Pretty nice people. but they do have cherry flavored ham. That's weird. It turns out my trainer might be the District leader. I don't know how i feel about that. I didn't even know it was Easter till after sacrament meeting. Not much different than every other day. I miss you guys. Being with Elder Roberts is just making me trunky. love serving though. just can't wait till I'm done.
 Love Elder Erasmus

April 14,2014

Dear Family

This is Elder Roberts last week. That means he ran out of money last week. We didn't get very much food grocery shopping. Oh well, I'm getting fat anyway. Last P-day we went hiking to some smaller falls not very many people know about. We got filthy. My boots, jeans, sweatshirt, and undershirt were soaked with this grimey mud water. It was super fun. At least it was till it started raining. Interesting fact about Canada, Fall and Spring don't exist here. Thanks to the humidity, it's either really cold and miserable, or really hot, sweaty and miserable. Super fun. Why didn't we think about that when we were packing? I have no short sleeved shirts. So one of the reasons we have been having a slow period is that we have been working with a ward missionary who is also a recent convert. We thought she has been inviting people to listen to our lessons. Turns out, she has been teaching several people the missionary lessons and has invited half of them to be baptized. That's our job. We had to explain to her that different callings had different responsibilities. Hopefully, we can start meeting with her friends. It turns out Fast Sunday was this week because they thought it would be cool to stick it between conference and Easter.  Kinda caught us off guard.  Not to mention our investigator had a nervous breakdown and ran out of the church crying.  Fun fun fun.

Dear Nick
Tell Mom that I think he's going to the Philippians. So mom tells me you get in people's face and smack talk during lacrosse. Remember that if you're going to talk the talk, you are going to need to walk the walk. As long as you do that and aren't to mean about it, you're good. What kind of duck is Duckless? Do any of the neighborhood pets bother her? Sounds like you guys are having a great time. Have a Happy Easter. Love ya

Dear Dawson
There's this one button above the enter key called "The BackSpace" button. If you push it you can fix your mistakes. The only place in Canada that actually speaks french is Quebec, and it doesn't even want to be part of Canada but it's too small to secede. My mission has been pretty average. Knocking doors, walking streets, and all that stuff. Nothing too terribly special. 16-0 huh. How many of those were yours? 15 right? Mom says you have been hanging with the ladies. You're such a stud.

Dear Ryan
You just blew my mind.... woah. Did you know that everyone in Canada has a scooter. Everyone. The government gives them out with the healthcare. Don't get a scooter. So Mom has started letting you have girls over? Very nice, very nice. She hot? Seems like you and her are getting along a lot better. Just try not to do anything too stupid and you'll get along swimmingly. Love you bro.

Dear Dad
Why do I have the least game out of all my brothers? Nick is probably going to be a player too. How are the others at lawn maintenance. I always feel like I did slightly more work than the others. The Orks in the hobbit movies aren't as creepy as the Lord of the Rings orks. That story Sister Carrol told sounds awfully familiar. Probably need to check for plagiarism.

Dear Mom
I can't help it if I was a little curious as a child. Exploring things was how I learned. Sounds like the boys are all keeping busy. I miss being small. More freedom and you could fit inside smaller areas. How cool was that. Also, mom, I have nearly eighteen months left. This is not the time when you should start setting me up with girls. That's an only six months left activity. love you.

Pictures from our Hike:

April 6, 2014

Dear Family
So as Promised, this week will have pictures to go with the stories. So we had exchanges with our District Leader and his companion. So I went to St. Catheter's with Elder Cowley
He is my District leader. While we were together Elder Judd
Served With Elder Roberts, who is my companion

This was on April first, so naturally we had to prank them. I decided to go with Canada's weather as a theme for the prank (Elder Judd's canadian).  Me and Elder Cowley put their sheets in a bucket of water and placed it in the freezer. I felt bad about him not having anything to sleep on, so we replaced them with disney princess sheets. When we exchanged back, Elder Cowley took a video of him discovering the sheetcicles and their replacments.... He swore....A lot. Later this week we had Conference. That Argentinian was my favorite. We also decided that Elder Holland is like a WWF  wrestler of the apostles. He just throws down on everything then drops the mike and walks away. You know that dot game we weren't suppose to play in sacrament meeting where you try to make more boxes than the other guy? We played that. We had over a thousand boxes. I lost by eleven boxes. So apparently A bunch of women have been protesting about wanting to have the priesthood, even though that's RLDS doctrine and apostate.  Elder Oaks also threw down on that. I liked that talk too. That's about all that happened. this week. Welland is kinda a small town, so we're starting to focus our efforts at Port Colborne and Pellham where we're less well known and the people might actually talk to us.

Dear nick.
 You wanna see my face?
Inline image 4
That is part of Niagara falls, also my face. It only took you an hour to walk home? Was it Fun? Why don't you get a bunch of friends together and walk home as a party. That was always fun for me. You might be too small still... oh well. Captain America was My favorite of the first marvel movies. I bet This one wasn't as good. Was it? Do you like reading diary of a wimpy kid? I liked it and I was quite a bit older. I love you bro.

Dear Dawson
You're just this super human stud when it comes to lacrosse aren't you? Are you still freakishly huge? I can't wait to see this movie, it sounds good. You have to remember that the Hulk was made by trying to use the captain america serum. He is like diet hulk. I hope you are having fun as a fourteen year old. love you dawg.

Dear Ryan
The only Marvel twins I know that aren't identical is quick silver and scarlet witch. There Magneto's kids. Did you catch their names? Pietro or wanda? oh well. probably not important. He has super speed if it's him, not teleporting. I'm probably way off. Didn't The hobbit two come out at Christmas? So confused. How are you and mom going? Still on the rocks? Just keep on keeping on and you'll do good.

Dear Dad
We have a couple of towns in our area. The closest proselyting area is A town north of us called St. Catherine's. Also there is a YSA branch so all the colleges and such have already been claimed as their territory. Kinda sucks. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY GOOD MOVIES?!?!?!? I can't wait to see these. The mission leader in our ward has been trying to cheer up Elder Roberts because he has less days than I have months. He came out of that even more discouraged. Whooo hooo.

Dear Mom
It comes to mind that my personal emails to you are slightly shorter than the others. That is because I usually address all your questions in the top part. Just look at it like that part is addressed specifically to you. Shelby is graduating? I thought doctors and medical students had like eight years of schooling? Captain America does have super powers. They just aren't very good super powers. It only allows you to send so many pictures per email so I'll send more next week.

I love all of you and have you in my prayers.

A little update

Dear Family
......Sooooooo, I may have left my camera at the apartment. I might get some pictures later today or next week. I promise i did go to Niagara falls and took some pretty sweet pictures. What did we do this week? Not much. Elder Roberts did get his travel plans. He's going back to Utah on the 23 of April. Makes me a little jealous that he will be seeing home so soon. Hey, guess what. I'm eating shwarma. Jealous?

 Dear Nick
I don't think i remember Indian wrestling. please explain and jog my memory. So you sound like a dynamo when it comes to lax. You might even be better than Ryan. Go ahead and tell him I said that. Do you remember when I took you to the aquarium? Do you remember the penguins pooping everytime they jumped in the water? I do. Are we gonna have fun like that when I get home.

 Dear Dawson
Happy Birthday bro. You're fourteen now. NICE!!!! What did you get? You can have the picture too if you want. That's all I can give you because I mooched it off my companion's camera.

Dear Ryan
The wiiu is already dead? I didn't even get to play it. GOSH DANGIT. Who's party is it? If it's someone you know Mom and dad don't like, you should probably avoid that. otherwise it sounds fun. Everything in canada is just the american version with a maple leaf. Maple mcdonalds, maple wendy's, and maple seven eleven. It's actually pretty funny.

Dear Dad
Pot Colborne, Pelham, and Welland are all our area. The closest missionaries are down in Saint Catherine's. Are you a coach? Is it just nick or are the other two under your wing? We watch conference at a church. it's pretty fun. I was good at sports....When I wanted to be.

Dear Mom
So Grandmother is going back to the land of potatoes. That's good. Elder Bednar said he didn't want us giving away too many details. I think he might use some of the same material for conference. The mission isn't hard physically, but the amount of redundancy and rejection is exhausting both mentally and spiritually. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?(Can I have some Classical and Zelda music. Just the musical parts though. ask Ryan)

I love you guys and promise I'll have more pictures next week.

Elder Erasmus

This is Nathan's District, trying to get their "Prince" to Knight them all, the prince is the one in the back, with his hand to his face.

3/24/2014
This week Elder Bednar came and spoke to us about missionary work and stuff. In this week's email, We're going to have a special segment called

THINGS APOSTLES SAY WHEN THEY'RE  NOT ON T.V.
Nuts, Stupid, Bogus, And references to dirty harry and other Clint Eastwood films. I didn't know they were allowed to watch those kinda movies.

Anyway, this week is pretty slow. Welland is just like Brampton except there's less Indians and everybody is unemployed. I'm in the ghetto. We did manage to teach this one catholic named Kevin. He's pretty accepting. We're going to the falls today so you'll definitely get pictures next week... Missionary's honor. Me and my companion were reading about Porter Rockwell. He was probably one of the sickest Mormons ever... even though he had word of wisdom issues.

Dear Nick
that looks like a pretty sweet car you have there. i don't think any of us ever got to far in the ranking, but our cars definitely looked the sickest. What is the 2nd grade program about? I bet you're the lead. Also i saw the picture mom sent of you, You're getting pretty UUUUUUUUUUUGLY. By ugly i mean big. you used to be so tiny, what happened? I guess we both need to send more pictures.

Dear Ryan
When I had a crush in high school, I did what they did. The reason i joined the Shakespeare team was there was this one girl that wouldn't mind spending more time with. You don't have to bring them anywhere and the parents are none the wiser. We're doing pretty good in Canada...It's really cold still. it snows every morning. But you guys keep me warm.

Dear Dawson
I probably would be considered a senior missionary, but my companion is ending his mission so I'm still the younger one. So mom tells me you have been going snow caving and stuff. Did you die? Not wanting to brag or anything but I once built three caves in one day. That's right, you're impressed. love ya bro.

Dear Dad
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Wow, you're old. So those are some pretty decent sounding movies. Find the good ones and put them together for when i get back. brother Salmon's lawn is freakishly well preserved. looking back i don't think i ever saw it yellow. If mom wants to compete with that, good luck. Are you a coach now? or did brother Chang just give you a birthday present. You would make a good coach for a high school team. As for this byu groper, just have all the women carry spray paint and when ever he comes at you, tag him. eventually he'll run out of hoodies. Sounds like a good plan right?

Dear Mom
59 river road room 23 area code l3b2r7 . just keep sending mail to the mission office though. Does that mean they won't get any more free Disney stuff? sad. it's cool that you had good weather though. Can't say the same for here. We've had a least some sort of flurry everyday. I love winter and all but this is ridiculous. Don't cut Ryan's hair. Better yet, make a deal with him. if he doesn't do anything stupid that will get him into trouble for a month, you won't make him cut it for two. Bit of a carrot and a stick approach. It might work.

i love you guys a ton

Waiting to be Knighted

Dear Family
Oh what fun stories shall I share with you today? My new companion's name is Elder Roberts. He's almost dead (missionary talk for going home) and he's a bit pudgey. Finally I have a companion who is shorter than me! Welland use to be a pretty decent shipping town but now it's basically closed so everyone just sits around all day and smokes pot. Pretty cool huh. NOT.  I haven't even got to the best part.  There's an Elder in our district who is a prince. You heard me, a PRINCE. His granny is the queen of the cook islands. I'm trying to convince him to Knight me but he's being difficult about it. But I'll probably come home at least a baron or something, just you wait and see.  There's no emailing places in our town so we have to go to the next town over. We may be going to Niagara falls this week. It's frozen. The largest waterfall in the world is frozen and we just got two feet of snow. Bring on SPRING BREAK 2014!!!! Driving is fun. Evidently we can listen to anything produced by a church member. We have been jamming to John Bytheway. If you find anything like that without any romantic overtones, I'll take it.

Dear Nick
I haven't  even seen welland when I emailed you last week, give me a break. So you have been tearing up the lacrosse field, eh champ. Good job.  You'll soon notice that all Erasmus boys are taller than everybody else for the first eleven or so years. Use that time wisely.  Next week we're going to Niagara falls, so we'll send you some sweet pics then. And I'm not just saying that because i forgot my camera today.  love ya sport

Dear Ryan
Everybody on the team has a job. Maybe you aren't the guy they need for those specific jobs, but they have to have a use for you or you wouldn't have made the team. Just be sure that you keep working and improving so when that moment comes, you'll be able to do the job they want from you. Enough pep talky though. If you want Mom off your back just don't do things that will get her on it. She'll be on you like fleas on a dog for the next few weeks, but if you use that time to show her you know what you're doing you'll be fine.  Just ask yourself if mom would be mad if you would do that thing, if the answer is yes, then DON'T DO IT. Our mission motto(or one of them at lest) is just keep on keeping on. So make good choices and remember who you are. love you bro.

Dear Dawson
That sounds fun. Is it out yet? Did you play it? Here in welland it's still pretty cold. It hasn't been above the negatives yet. Did you have enough to finish the sacrament or did you have to bless more? This sunday was the first time I passed in almost six years. We only have one deacon and one priest in my new ward, so we were invited to participate. Did y'all have spring break yet? Canada's spring break was last week so we saw a lot of younger folk. What did you do for the vacation? Love talking to you. Bu bye

Dear Dad
What did Ryan do that needed you called home? Well, at least you can tell people you have a kid on a mission right?!! How is work by the way? Fix any broken backs? I know you guys like talking about church and spiritual enlightenment and all that jazz, but emails home are like the one time I don't have to talk about that. Seen any good movies? How's sports?  What are the relatives doing? Cool things like that. Also, SEND ME SOME THIN MINTS GOSH DARN IT!!! love you though.

Dear Mom
Don't send things to my apartment. You can send letters but send all packages to mission home or mission office.  I'm doing fine in welland. Ryan seems like he's been going through just as hard of a time as you are. don't be afraid to tell him off but always show that you love him after.  That's what it says in the Doctrine and Covenants anyway. Scripture study is helpful. I don't know if I'm the best person to give parenting advice. I love you  and hope you figure it out though.  I love you all and hope for your best. sincerely Elder Erasmus

Sorry, Catching Up and Elder Erasmus' is transferred to Welland!

3/10/2014
Dear family
Some pretty interesting things happened this week. First of all I went on exchanges with my District Leader, Elder Folsom. He's not the funnest guy and I get the impression that he's trying to hard, but he's a pretty good missionary. On Sunday the sister missionaries and us put on a fireside on the tree of life. We created a maze of furniture and blindfolded everyone. They had to get through the maze and find the iron rod. Here's the kicker, half the missionaries were quiet angels that led them the right way and half were devils who led them into furniture. Naturally I was a devil. That was Fun. I found i am getting transferred to Welland on Tuesday. That's near Niagara falls. so if I ever get this photo fiasco figured out, I'll send you a picture of it. Other than that not much happened this week. Taught a few lessons, did some tracting, found out Elder Bednar is coming, finished the dictionary... Oh and I'm going to be the designated driver this transfer. should be fun.
Dear Dawson
Why am I not surprised you cleaned out basketball. You're just too good. Now all you got to do is be just as good at lacrosse. Shouldn't be too terribly dificult. Keep being awesome.
Dear Nick
Do we even own a drum? Also, THERE WAS A FIRE AND YOU KEPT SINGING!!!! THAT'S HOW PEOPLE DIE! Was it a real fire or did somebody just pull the thing? Either way, I bet the whole expierence was alarming... Am I right. So his dog is 135lbs that's bigger than my MTC companion. Did you ride him? I would've. I miss you too buddy. I'm working on getting some pictures to you but right now is rather tricky. I still love you though.
Dear Ryan
Sounds rough. You know what I do when the going get's tough...Cry. You shouldn't do that though. Just remember, If life was easy we wouldn't learn anything. What can you learn from this suckage? By the way, they don't send you home if you're depressed. They send you to Brampton. The nickname for this area is the land of milk and honey. Probably because of all the members. Just keep swimming.
Dear dad
Obliviously the movie (About Christ's Life) wouldn't be completely accurate, but as long as they don't give us anything too misleading it should be good. What other movies are out? I know everyone wants to talk to the missionary about gospel stuff, but is our only time to not. Did the new Captain America come out yet? Have you guys bought pacific rim. You should. How is life without my bright personality to lift you up from the bilge of mundanity? I don't think mundanity is a word. Here's a cool tracting story. Two missionaries knock on a door and a gay couple tells them if they can change the church's stance an samesex marriage they'll make us steak. That was a fun contact. Hope you are all behaving yourselves. love you. Also go easy on Ryan. Teenagers aren't nearly as experienced as you.
Dear mom
Tim flew to Colorado? But that's right next door to Utah...And he has family there. Why didn't he drive? Well that's probably not important. I warned you this would happen. You became so reliant on my chore doing that Ryan and Dawson just don't have the same experience to match. Now you have to wait nineteen months for a clean yard. Also, give Ryan some slack. He's young and will eventually know the things you do. I love you guys.
yours truly
Elder Erasmus

3/3/2014
Dear Family
We Taught One leson this week... That's pathetic. It's really weird, last week we hit standards(the goal for every missionary in our mission per week) and this week we were working just as hard and only got the one. God obviously has a pretty important lesson he's trying to teach us. Welp, better luck next week.
Dear Dawson
Hey buddy, how you doing? So, you're some kinda basketball wizard? I don't even remember my court of honor... Must have been pretty good. How is school going? Last I heard the teacher flunked you because you wouldn't show your work on a math test. Did you get yourself back to wizard level or are you still in the doghouse? Seen any good movies lately? Word in Canada is that there's a Noah and Jesus movie coming out. Should be fun. Love you Bro.
Dear Ryan
So, dad tells me you had some sort of secret dance party at camp Alma. you little scamp you. The weather here has been equally as trying. The mornings are Frigid but then warms up to only mildly frostbiting during the afternoon. Canada might look like America, But when you look deeper it becomes entirely more sinister. For example, Their favorite Potato chip is ketchup flavored and they chew soap flavored gum. SOAP FLAVORED GUM! It's gum that is soap flavored, I kid you not. I never went to prom. I never really like dances, you can't talk to people, you can't move, It's just a throbbing mass of teenagers that don't wear enough deodorant... But you have fun. Tell me about it when it happens. Love you bro.
Dear Nick
Mom tells me you went and hung out with uncle greg and his kin this weekend. That sounds fun. What was your favorite part of the trip? Did you see his new dog, That thing is massive. Not the biggest I've seen though. There's this one person we're teaching that has a bear. It's some sort of lab Rotweiler mix but it looks more like a bear. It's bigger than me. Write me next week will'ya. Love you little brother
Dear Mom
To answer your quiestion, Yes. I read the english and the bible dictionary. Sometimes you just need something to read that isn't jesus related and the bible is some good mind numbing. I think I like Elder whiting a little bit better, But I can't really decide. Sounds like grandmother is going through some hard stuff. Why is she in a nursing home, I thought she went back to idaho? What exactly was wrong with her Knee anyway? I'll try to get some pictures to you, but transfers are coming up. If I move out of Brampton, I'll only get mail once a week. Here's hoping, right? Love you.
Dear Dad
Can you do me a favor, a mission if you will. The ward here has been going off about this "Son of God" movie that has recently come out. I need you to watch it and also do some digging to see if there is any truth to this "Noah" movie rumor. Bible movies seem to be coming, which may make my job either easier or loads more difficult. Anyway, that does sound like something Ryan would do. I'm actually out of time at the library. I really wish I could write more but I have to go.
Love you guys.

o whom it may concern.
I start my day at 6:30 and do a simple work out of about twenty pushups and staring at the wall in a lazy stupor. I do this until 7:00 when I make breakfast and take a shower. During my companions shower I have a few minutes of free time. I have already read Jesus The Christ, Our Heritage, Our Search For Happiness, The Book Of Mormon, And the new testament. I spend that time reading either The old testament or the dictionary... Mostly the dictionary. At 8:00 we begin studies. I read from the Book Of Mormon again and use cross references and stuff. At 9:00 is companionship study. We role play. I do not like Role playing. I find it tedious and unproductive, but Preach my Gospel says to do it. At 10:00 we begin the day. We walk about and do some tracting in the area closest to our house. Nobody talks to us. At 12:00 we have a lunch hour. I read the dictionary some more during this. after lunch we head to the farther areas to either tract or go to appointments. The appointments drop 75% of the time. at around 5:30 we head back for a dinner hour. You guessed it, more dictionary time. After dinner we repeat what we did after lunch but in a different area. That is my day with some slight variations every now and again. For example, last Thursday we helped a member with his flooded basement. We were in about a foot of raw sewage. super fun. If you would like some detail on the conditions of the proselyting, it is cold. The people are cold, the weather is cold, and my feet get REALLY cold. It's not too terribly difficult, but it jst feels that we have rather long periods of unproductive bleh. We have one really good investigator. The problem with him though is that he's in a wheelchair and has brittle bones syndrome so he literally can't come to church. If we just had one or two more solid people we could bring to church so the ward doesn't think we're useless that'd be nice. Enough of me ranting though.
Dear Nick
So you're finally getting in to pokemon? it's about time. If you mind me asking, what does your team look like? Which ones your favorite? Video games might not seem like that interesting of a subject to you, but all we talk about as missionaries is the gospel how to teach it. i swear I have had the same conversation about thirty times trying to explain to people that we are indeed Christians and that we could answer any questions if they would only let us in. How was the fire house? did you get to go down the pole? I went to the fire station when I was a cub scout and they let me sit in one of the firetrucks. Now that was cool. I miss you bud.
Dear Ryan
I still have to wake up super duper early. It never goes away. I might have to fight you over my spot when I get back. A trick I learned with you and Dawson is just to find something you both like and only talk about that. eventually you two will be as close as we were. Mom made me go to camp Alma four times. Here's a bit of a hint. They tell you not to bring your phone or any distractions, bring them anyway but only use them in the dorm. Also bring lots of snack food. They don't feed you much. I miss you to bro.
Dear dawson
I do both tracting and teaching. We try to teach whenever we tract and vice versa. Hows the deacon team? I know you're a rockstar but what about the rest of those yahoos? Being a teacher is alot more fun than being a deacon. You get to go on activities with the priests, you get to go to stake dances and you don't have to pass the sacrament anymore. How cool is that? anyway. I love you tons little brother.
Dear Leon
I did that thing you wanted. If that's not enough detail for you than you need to ask very specific questions. So Mike is part of a drug war now? That sounds sketchy. The members here have hinted that Canada might be doing well in the Olympics. such subtle hints as "WHOOHOOO!!!! IN YOUR FACE! THE STATES WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS THE SNOWY NORTH!!!!" apparently hockey is big up here or something. Anyway that was fun sharing with you. love you lots.
Dear Mary
Primary sounds rough. When I was that age the only thing the teachers had to worry about was me leaning back in my chair...and devin and I playing bloody knuckles. But it sounds like you're keeping it together. The notice above contains what I did for all those days. just multiply it by seven. Love you guys a lot and I am praying for you.

2/18/2014

Hey guys. How you doin'. Things have been going pretty good up here in the snowy north. We haven't been able to meet with a ton of people the last few weeks. It's been tough but I'm hanging in there. Not much to say so...yeah.
Dear Ryan
That sounds pretty lame actually. Oh well. It's good to know you're doing well. Hows lax going? How's school going? hows life going? Any cool stories? I miss the real world.... Anyway, luv ya bro.
Nick
So you saw the lego movie twice. Still haven't told me if it's worth seeing when I get back. I wish I could have a few days off school, but God has a lesson for me and the people I teach.
Dawson
Dude, what happened to your grammar? Just because you're some crazy good mathamatician doesn't mean you can slack off in english class. Yes I have been tracting, no the white people are still mean, and I don't think mom can do anything to change that. How's basketball going? Still a beast? love you.
Dad
Now you know how I feel every time I email. Head full of stories, fingers refusing to type. How is life going in general? good, bad, average? I'll give you details if you give me some first.
Mom
That's alot of people. Figures a year after I leave everyone else follows. I'm just that kind of trend setter. Just being warm isn't a good thing here. I'd much rather walk on ice than slush. Has nala actually started digging it up yet? Who's on poop patrol?
I got the cds...kinda. they jipped me disc 5. Still had a lot of fun listening to them and I think I know enough about his martyrdom anyway.
Love you all and wish you the best.
Elder Erasmus

2/10/2014

I'm just gonna skip to the individual letters because nothing happened this week.

Dear Ryan
Sounds like you had a fun week. I got out of football by just telling them that I didn't want to do it and that I refused to do it anymore... Also my football team shot a soft core gay porno in the locker room sooooooo..... Anyway, about Hyrule Warriors. WHAT THE HECK!!!! You have got to tell me everything about it. What's it about, is link still in it, plot, gameplay, is it multi player(sounds multi player) online capable? You have got to tell me these things. Good luck with your life and all, but if you're gonna bring that up you need to provide details...maybe pictures...

Dear Dawson
That sounds hilarious. how have you been doing? How has school been going? still smarter than everybody else? I don't have any funny commercials for you though...Man, i wish I could write you something but honestly I'm still blown away by Ryan's news. What are your thoughts? opinions? Still love you bro.

Dear Nick
Sounds like you had a blast. Did it make the list of movies I have to see when i get back? Have you tried snowboarding yet? We had a blizzard too. Problem is that missionaries aren't allowed to listen to the news so we didn't know to bundle up. Oops. I miss you tons bro. I think about you guys everyday.

Dear Leon
I would love to give you some cool stories... but I don't have any.  All the cool stories I have i've already shared with you guys. It's kinda discouraging when I think about it actually...Anyway, sounds like you had a interesting experience with Ryan. Was it as fun as the one I had back in the day? I didn't think you needed to go to counseling for a speeding ticket. Hope that you guys work that out. My philosophy on kid movies is that the more wild a childish it is, the more adult jokes and themes it sneaks in subtly. You should have a good time.

 Dear mom
Yes, we finally got our mail this week. I just got the cds I asked for though, so if there's anything else i need to know about that be great. my companion is a very hard worker so we keep busy. Half the time we don't get to see everybody we have planned just cause we stuff our day so full.
Ammon is a pretty good missionary story, but I personally prefer Alma and his miision to the apostate zoramites. Good stuff.  So the Sd card esb adapter I bought doesn't fit my card... I need a new plan. no pictures this week. Still love you.

A Little Catch up

FEB 3rd
Dear Family
The mission has been going pretty good. Not teaching a ton of new people, but we may have hooked a family. pretty sweet. My new Companion's name is Elder Whiting. He's from Grantsville and is an incredible swimmer. He's taller than me... i don't like that. We had a dinner appointment with a member on Superbowl Sunday. It was rough seeing all the treats and stuff set up and not being able to watch it, Especially since this year I actually had a team worth rooting for there. Oh well. Not much Is new so new stories this week. I actually haven't been able to go to mission office for a few weeks because the Elders that we use to bum a ride from changed to a tripanionship so there's no room. We did ask some missionaries to pick up our mail this week, so who knows. I'm working on a plan to get pictures on the way to you, but it should be done next week. As always, love'ya guys and you're in my prayers.

Elder Erasmus

 JAN 27th
How y'all doing. It has been exceptionally white this week. Snow, snow, and more snow. Super fun. I didn't get what my companion had, but I did catch a cough. My district has made a habit of pointing out that I sound like a chain smoker now. That's fun. We stopped by a lot of less active members this week and got them out to church. But you guys want to hear about the investigators. We had a lesson with the husband of a part member family. He's in a wheelchair and is probably the most sarcastic guy you will ever meet. I like him. We also had a solid lesson with a jamican family. Well the mother and her daughter as the husband was leaving. The nine year old daughter asked a ton of deep philisophical questions such as "Who birthed God?" "Do people who never heard of jesus still go to hell?" and "How is God everywhere?" We taught a nice restoration and told them we'd get to the answers eventually. We had transfers yesterday. I'm staying in Brampton and Elder Olsen is Heading to stratford, Home of the beiber. My new companion's name is Elder Whiting and i meet him tomorrow.

Sounds like yo're a natural skiier. I wonder if that means you will be good at snowboarding. Maybe me and Ryan can teach you when I get back. I didn't read 12th night. What's it about? Are you the Star? You're probably gonna be some big shot actor when I get back, Eh? Love ya bro. Break a leg with your play.

Is there any sport you aren't good at? Just taking down super fast pollies, no big deal. Don't get too good. You still want a challenge.

That's what you get for speeding. Community service isn't so bad. How many hours did you get? What did you do? Did you just have to clean garbage or something? Anyway, I hear you answered that girl to the dance. I also hear she's a drill team girl. Drill team girls are scary. Are you sure you can handle it?

The new Arrow episodes were suppose to come out last november? Maybe they just get redbox late. So you're smoozing the attorneies, eh? That's good. I remember the first Basketball game you took me to. I don't remember who played but I remember bringing tiny basketball player figurines and you and me played with them at half time. Good times. Nick is a smart kid. He's almost as smart as I was at his age. He just needs to get outside more.

I'm a missionary, all I need is people to teach. I'm good though. The biggest thing I miss is your cooking and you can't exactly mail that to me. I'll be good as long as you guys are doing good. I love you.

JAN 20th
You aren't the only ones getting sick. My companion spent all of personal studies throwing up in the bathroom. It smells in our appartment now. Our investigators have been kinda up an down this week. The night before we went to see the hindu family, she called and told us she isn't intrested in getting baptized and doesn't want to give up her culture. She still wanted us to come meet her and share our message so I'm a bit confused. No one made it out to church either. Thats Okay though. We'll get them next week. Cool story. In the ward we're serving in, two missionaries had fairwells this sunday. They're brother and sister going to the MTC on the same day... To the same mission... In the same district. Freacky, right? What I miss the most on my mission is sleeping in. Even on Preperation days we have to wake up at 6. Oh well.

What's the name of the play you're in? Sounds Shakespearian. There is a member in the ward here who is obsessed with skylanders. He's in his thirties and a really cool guy. How many more skylanders can you get before you have all of them, anyway? I'm glad you're feeling better. Love ya tons.

Thanks for writing me this week. I know your time is valuable and you don't want to waste it typing to me but I do appreciate it. So sweethearts. Who asked you? is she cute? Do you have to wear a tux? Who is in the group? Theese are the important questions. Don't be too much of a ladykiller now. Not everyone can handle your levels of swag. also mail is expensive. It's like three dollars to send things state side. I'll try to get you something though.
